Animals roaming the main island
All aggressive and most passive animals may be killed by melee or ranged attacks, but pigeons and ducks will fly away if the player gets too close. Aggressive animals will charge at the player, knocking them down and causing health damage with the added risk of a Bleeding condition. For melee, dodge and attack the animal while it works up the energy for another charge. For passive animals, equip a weapon at a distance and approach very slowly. Pulling out a weapon or moving too quickly within a short range of the animal will startle it into fleeing. Arrows and Slingshot Bullets will kill all birds as well the Bat with a single shot, while Large Traps will capture larger animals and thus eliminate the risk of flight by prey and of harm by predators.
