Witchcraft!

The Knife of Dunwall is now (lovely) labeled and the first half of The Brigmore Witches is up and labeled too. Wait… Gasp! A gallery that was labeled before I even posted it? No, two of them?! Someone check for signs of a frost in Hell! Or maybe I made a contract with the Outsider, hmm?

I’m also playing through Dishonored again–collecting documents–which is of course proving incredibly handy for catching a few mistakes in the base game’s pages. I started The Royal Physician last night. I’m quite glad now that I decided to collect the loot photos and the document photos separately; there are a lot of books in this game and they are in no way tracked by in-game statistics. Keeping an eye out for books (which don’t glow in Void Gaze unfortunately) while dodging guard patrols is difficult enough without having other items to keep track of mentally.

The Knife of Dunwall cannot abide an unlabeled gallery…

The Knife of Dunwall is here! As usual, the galleries are unlabeled for now but the images will still point you in the right direction. Both of Dishonored’s DLC expansions are absolutely fantastic and they together amount to almost as much content and playtime as the base game! Three cheers for Arkane!

Coming soon…

A little spit and polish

All of Thief’s main chapters as well as The Bank Heist are catalogued and labeled, the Collectibles and nearly all of the Documents are organized and labeled, and the City is now available too! I still need to double-check and label the section devoted to the City after Chapter 2 but the photos are there for the viewing, and of the Documents, I’m down to finding only 5 newspapers that I’m missing. Then, for Thief, only the challenge maps remain!

I used the native WordPress gallery for Dishonored’s pages and only started fiddling with gallery alternatives on Thief pages, but now that I’ve gotten NextGen Gallery (mostly) figured out I’ve taken down all the old galleries and replaced them with the new ones. All of the Dishonored missions, the Hound Pits Pub, and the Charms & Runes pages are updated and re-labeled. Some of the pages were missing content after I deleted a batch of photos I shouldn’t have and the old galleries made navigation a headache by cluttering up the Back button in browsers. Not a problem now!

I’ve started collecting screenshots from the first mission of Dishonored’s Knife of Dunwall DLC. In addition to my chores in Thief, I may soon start to catalogue Dishonored’s documents.

Dishonored complete! Long live the Empress!

Woohoo! Missions 07, 08, and 09 are up and the Runes and Bone Charms pages are done. With most of Dishonored complete, I plan to come back later and record all document locations. Since that is not a statistic tracked by the game, I’ll save it for a rainy day when I’m in the mood to Blink across Dunwall again. The DLC are also on my to-do list but I’d like to expand into other games a bit first.

Next up, robbing the City blind in Thief!20160519164526_1

And since this is one of my favorite games, also containing some of my favorite characters, I feel no shame over a little eulogizing. Okay, maybe I’m fangirling just a little bit here but Arkane did good. Just the fact that they managed to create a likable child character with depth and development–who didn’t annoy the crap out of you–is an achievement in itself. (Shut up, you think she’s adorable too. How could you leave without giving her a proper farewell, you monster.)

So, long life to Emily! May she benefit from her mother’s wisdom, her people’s affection, and Corvo’s devotion. A rough start can forge a little girl into a world-shaker, if only she has even a single person to believe in her. (And if she really is a playable character in this upcoming sequel, I am going to vibrate with excitement.)

Dishonored Update (Return to a Tower too small)

Getting closer to the end… Mission 06 and Hound Pits 06 in today’s Dishonored update. I’m glad Return to the Tower is a comparatively short level since I found out last night that my family (myself included) is attending a wedding today! I hate pausing in the middle of any project. This level breaks my heart every time with so many reminders of just how good a woman, an empress, and a mother Jessamine had been. I do wish the level was larger so there was more backstory to explore, more peeks into that happier daily life now lost.

Only three levels to go! The Flooded District is quite long but the The Loyalists and Light at the End are very, very short. I hope to have them all done before Monday!

I’m leaning towards either of the Thief games to start next, but I’d love a request.

Dishonored Update (Royal Physician feeling poorly)

The Royal Physician complete in this Dishonored update. Good Lord, this level was unusually annoying! It certainly seemed as if every time I got juuust the riggghht shot, some guard would turn around and screw it up or an in-game announcement would throw nearly a minute’s worth of subtitles across the screen. (I turn the voices and music off so I can listen to an audiobook or the radio while I work, but I do need to know what they’re saying sometimes to anticipate their movements.)

Hound Pits 04 should be up by the end of the day, and Mission 05 in the next two days.

P.S. I was thinking of doing Thief Gold, Thief (2014), or Alice: Madness Returns after finishing Dishonored. Any thoughts?

[EDIT 9:00pm] Hound Pits 04, Mission 05, and Hound Pits 05 are up! That was far easier, since most of the loot was concentrated in only two areas: the guests wandering on the first floor and three bedrooms on the second held most of the goodies. It’s the Regent’s last sunset from Dunwall Tower, I think.Dishonored
